Meet the Founder
Angie Marino—Teacher and Founder of Writing Wonders——Available Monday-Saturday year round
Angie received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Spanish from DePaul University in Chicago in 2000 and has been observing young writers and language learners ever since. As a result, she has been able to clarify common confusions, patterns of error, and the frustrations that children have when trying to write.
Since starting Writing Wonders in 2013, she has learned how to make writing fun for students and set them on a path to confident writing! Under her instruction, students feel motivated, supported, and proud of their work. She would be delighted to work with your child!
When Angie’s not teaching writing, she’s gardening with her four children, cooking with her husband, catching up with friends, or running with her new dog, Nash. Angie is available year round. Click below to schedule a class!
Meet the Teachers
Amy received a degree in Spanish from Harding University in 1996, certifying her to teach both Spanish and English for the 7-12 grades. She taught high school Spanish in Bald Knob, Arkansas for several years. After spending some time working both in the private sector and for the Arkansas Department of Economic Development, she decided to stay home with her babies, living the life of a full-time mom since 2006.
When the schools were pressed to close, she began homeschooling, first to expand beyond the online offerings of the local public school, then to take on the challenge of homeschooling in earnest. Working with a Christian Co-op, she participated in classes for homeschooled children in a variety of subjects including theater, public speaking, writing, and needlework. She loves to read and write. She works as an editor for other authors and hopes to publish a novel of her own in the near future. She enjoys this opportunity to share a love of words with her students.
